Kojo Interactive Newsletter #003
We've cracked through the 08/09 financial year and Kojo Interactive are head long into 09/10 with a lot of new work, some launches since our last newsletter and even some local media showcasing.
Kojo Interactive has also been recruiting again - we'd like to make welcome Darren Grant to the Interactive team. Darren is currently completing his 4th year of a Bachelor of IT in Computing and Multimedia at University of SA and is working two days a week as a Web Developer with us. Darren has already made a big impact in the few weeks he's been here with helping out in a whole bunch of current work - he even helped out with the latest updates to our website.
Latest launches, and working with clients new and old
We've launched some great sites recently - Hearing Life, Global Green Challenge and our latest version of RACS' Annual Scientific Congress site.
We've also started working alongside some new clients and are undertaking new work for some existing ones - Poynter Hargraves, OxFam Shop, Ansell, Mitsubishi Motors, The Lion Hotel and we're working on some new innovations with our Kojo Group content which will also be launched soon.
Kojo Interactive is also sponsoring the BMW Adelaide Fashion Festival again for 2009 - you can get all the latest updates on their site.
Social Media
Twitter and Facebook have branched away from being just for those Internet geeks [thats us] and into the mainstream, and the next step is knowing how to utilise these channels for promoting your content.
We've successfully created a Suzy Thomson Fan Page for Beautiful where we've uploaded videos and messages from the movie's central character, a Mystery Burger Deal page and just about to relaunch the BMW Adelaide Fashion Festival
Facebook Page for the 2009 event. We're now working with existing and new clients to help them broaden their online footprint with advice and strategies in the use of social media channels - not just Facebook and Twitter, but also strategies for YouTube video channels and Flickr
photo accounts. This new type of work [away from the standard content managed website] is allowing Kojo Interactive to think innovatively about how we help promote your business.
Our Super Producer, Joe, even had a starring role in a story called Media Junkie on Adelaide's A Current Affair recently where he talked about social media's role in marketing and how it is changing the communication landscape.
We've got a lot of ideas and experience in social media [and yes we all use these channels ourselves!] so email, Tweet, Facebook Chat or leave a comment on our YouTube channel to discuss some ideas!
Working with other divisions
Kojo Interactive is a member of the Kojo Group and as the online world begins to blur into a number of different areas of Kojo and bandwidth allows bigger and bolder content, we are working closer than ever with our other divisions.
Interactive has worked alongside Kojo Events with their Annual Scientific Congress by providing an accompanying event website that details the event, but also allows the attendees to build an online calendar from the list of events that occur over the five days. Oasis Post
provide us with our 3D work - they worked with us on our tray model for our Frontline Australasia mini-site - all our sound on the Beautiful site which we did for Kojo Pictures, and edited our videos on Marcellina Pizza Bar
. We work closest with Kojo Productions
, our room mates, to develop video content for our web clients and we return the favour for developing their clients' online content - Hearing Life is currently our favourite shared client.
Clients can truly benefit from this as all of the work can be done under one roof - there is no need to go to numerous companies to create web sites, video and engaging content. There is also the benefit of one Producer who understands the brand and can make sure this is followed through to all divisions when content is being created. And of course the cost benefits that come along with this. Less development miles travelled if we had to coin a phrase!
